In Serdang, not only policemen are conducting patrols to ensure compliance to the COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).

Horses are doing it too!

Yes, according to a report by Harian Metro, officials from the Seri Kembangan police now have four mounted police patrol units as well.

Not horsing around.District police chief assistant commissioner Razali Abu Samah said that the horses (along with the policemen riding them of course) would also help out with crime prevention rounds in Serdang.

Getting closer to the people

"Apart from crime prevention measures, the mounted patrol unit will also socialize with the local community as well as distribute crime prevention leaflets.

"The unit provides an opportunity for the community to channel any problems whether related to crime, drug abuse, commercial crime and other information for police action," he said.

He added that the patrols would concentrate on areas with high numbers of people including large supermarkets, banking areas and even housing areas.

Great news for the people in Serdang!
