Last year, the tech mammoth made a lot of iPhone users very happy because they were able to replace their old phone batteries with a new one at a lower price.
While it is great news for consumers because they can finally prolong the lifespan of their iPhones, this also means less people are buying the new iPhone models.
That can't be good for Apple, right?
True enough, according to a letter by Apple CEO Tim Cook, the company revealed a USD9bil (RM37bil) loss in revenue last year mainly due to poor iPhone sales.
He said the weak demand could partly come from the fact that people were replacing their old batteries.
To be honest, the staggering prices of the new iPhones alone are enough to turn many people off. So, Apple, don't fault us for not upgrading our phones for now because money doesn't grow on trees.
"In fact, most of our revenue shortfall to our guidance, and over 100 percent of our year-over-year worldwide revenue decline, occurred in Greater China across iPhone, Mac and iPad," he said in a statement.
If Apple wants good sales, then maybe they should bring back another iPhone SE equivalent again. Don't you think?
