In a bid to achieve herd immunity, the Malaysian government has been ramping up its vaccination process these past few months.

However, there are still a certain group of people who refused to get vaccinated.

And the government is set to do something about it.

Making vaccination compulsory?

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin told The Star that the government will soon announce the action that will be taken against those who refuses to take their vaccination.

The announcement will be made either this month or next month.

This is to ensure that the country could achieve herd immunity, Muhyiddin said.

But first, the government will study and conduct more research about the anti-vaccine groups to find out why they are hesitant to take the vaccine.

Better register for your vaccination now.
"We need to know the background, whether most of them are so sick that they are afraid to take the vaccine, or they don’t want to take the vaccine because they don’t believe (in it).

"So, when we have analysed... if the percentage is very small, it is not worrying but if it is big, we have to find a way, whether to (make it) mandatory under the existing legal provisions. It will be decided by the government within this month or next month,” he was quoted as saying.

Muhyiddin also did not rule out the possibility of making it compulsory for every Malaysian to take the vaccine jabs.

If you've yet to register, now's the time to do so.
