While most doctors are busy saving lives and dealing with a pandemic, one doctor was busy breaking into homes instead.

The 38-year-old doctor was arrested at a condominium in Jalan Kalawei, Persiaran Gurney, where he did most of his stealing.

New Straits Times reported that the unnamed suspect has been active since 2014, but his luck ran out this time around.

The man usually enters people’s homes in the early mornings, slipping through unlocked doors to grab whatever valuables left lying around the living rooms.

When he was nabbed by the police, the doctor led them to his house and showed them one of the rooms where he keeps the stolen items.

Among the items found were a Nintendo Switch, 26 laptops, 67 mobile phones, six televisions, eight identification cards, three Japanese passports, and three cameras.

The suspect has been remanded till 1 May. He will be charged under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house breaking and is facing up to 14 years in jail for his crimes.
