The biggest news over the weekend is, undoubtedly, local celebrity Neelofa's wedding to preacher PU Riz.

However, the biggest story to come out of the ceremony is that's it has now become a subject of police investigation.

Lack of social distancing

The police have reportedly opened an investigation paper to probe the alleged breach of MCO standard operating procedures, Harian Metro reported.

Dang Wangi District Chief, Assistant Commisioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah told the Malay portal that the police will soon haul up the organiser of the solemnisation ceremony for questioning.

All together.
According to ACP Mohamad Zainal, initial investigations revealed that the ceremony, which took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (27 March), did not adhere to the set SOPs such as social distancing.

The case will be investigated under Section 21A of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, ACP Mohamad Zainal said.

"We will be calling the organiser of the event to help facilitate investigations," he was quoted as saying.

Where’s the distancing?
On Saturday (27 March), the 32-year-old actress officially tied the knot with 26-year-old preacher PU Riz at a glitzy ceremony.

Looks like both newlyweds would have to deal with this drama first before they could go on their honeymoon.
