Remember the kind policeman who saved a little puppy that fell into a monsoon drain last week?

The policeman, identified as Corporal Mohd Azad Azady Mohd Tarmizee, has received a letter of commendation from Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.

According to a report in Malay Mail, the letter was handed over by Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s assistant private secretary Muhammad Syahir Hasan.

A simple ceremony

The letter was handed in a ceremony at the Shah Alam district police, where Mohd Azad Azady is attached with its mobile patrol vehicle unit.

A video depicting Mohd Azad Azady’s kind act was uploaded by Ezam Bin Ramli.

In the video, the puppy seemed a little hesitant, but it later warmed up to the policeman.

After gaining its trust, Mohd Azad Azady patted it on its head and carried it back to safety.

The puppy's parents were also present at the scene, wagging their tails to thank Mohd Azad Azady after he saved their pup.
