Malaysians will have to wait another year before they can enjoy the new outdoor theme park which was scheduled to open there later this year.

According to a report in The Star, the postponement of the opening was due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the Movement Control Order (MCO).

"As development works on the outdoor theme park were affected by the MCO, the group is working on a revised timeline for the completion and opening of the outdoor theme park, ” said the company.

Genting's new outdoor theme park has hit a couple of snags in the past few years.

Since it closed down back in 2014, there were plans to turn it into a '20th Century Fox' theme park that was scheduled to open in 2018, but a messy lawsuit derailed the plans.

It's a shame, but we guess it's for the best.
