Proton quietly announced today that the highly anticipated Proton S70 has started rolling off the Tanjung Malim production line.

The all new sedan is developed together with Geely and customers can begin booking the car from 1 November at RM500.

CEO of Proton said in a speech that the car is, “Endowed with intelligent safety technology, connectivity and a 1.5L turbocharged engine with dual clutch transmission.” There are no details on exactly what we’ll be receiving yet though we’d wager it’s the same engine in the X50.

The public will be able to see it officially beginning November 11 as PROTON will be doing roadshows and activations throughout the nation.

Equipment we can see from photos

From the photos provided of the interior, we know that there’s at least a variant with sunroof, automatic parking brake hold, electronic parking brake, wireless charging pad, a holder for your car keys, and the clicky buttons for air conditioning control that looks similar to the X50.

The (likely C-segement sedan is the fourth all-new Proton model to be developed together with Geely and you can see the DNA of the X50 and X70 family within the interior.
