After Pakatan Harapan won the historical 14th General Elections, one of their promises in their manifesto was to grant those who are earning less than RM4,000 monthly a deferment in paying their National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loans. Not only that, their names will be cleared from the travel.blacklist.

And thankfully, over a month after the elections, 429,945 defaulters were cleared and had their travel bans lifted.

If you are one of those 429,945 affected, pay close attention as this might determine whether your loan gets deferred or not.

The faster you repay, the faster your loan will be settled, to be honest.
PTPTN has announced that borrowers have nine days to update their PTPTN account with their latest information, including their income details.

You need to key in your information starting from 17 July and no later than 25 July. Failing to do so will result in your loan repayment not being deferred.

“If they fail to do so within the stipulated period, we will assume that the borrowers aren’t interested in deferring their loan repayment period,” PTPTN Chairman Wan Saiful Wan Jan said in a press conference on Monday.

Now, you wouldn't want that to happen, right?
PTPTN is in the midst of gathering information from loan borrowers before implementing the deferment.

So, hurry guys, you snooze, you lose!
