Early Thursday, two topics trended in Malaysia, which caught not only our eyes but almost every Malaysian's – #AmpunTuanku and Permaisuri Agong.

Apparently, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah has deactivated her Twitter account @cheminahsayang following toxic comments from ill-hearted netizens.

The Queen, who was very active on Twitter, regularly updates her followers (whom she calls her “Twitter friends”) about her daily life and even shares exclusive never-before-seen photos with the public.

The queen's account no longer exists at the time of publish.
Many Malaysians expressed their sadness and disappointment towards the cyber bullies, and they have collectedly pleaded Her Majesty to reactivate her account that went offline on Wednesday night (11 September).

The Queen has over 230,000 followers at the time of her deactivation.

Twitter user Shafiqah Othman lamented that the Queen “only posts about her husband, her children, and her kittens. Only a hateful person would be bitter about things like that.”

Another user, Adam, tweeted: “You are literally the worst person in this country when you made our cheerful Permaisuri Agong deactivate her Twitter account”.

The Queen’s presence on social media was very much welcomed by fellow Malaysians, especially after the King’s coronation, as she gives us a glimpse into the life of the members of the royal family, as well as a different, more humble side of her.

Here’s what other Malaysians had to say following her decision to deactivate her Twitter account:

We sincerely hope that the Raja Permaisuri Agong will return to Twitter soon and bless our timelines with her cute tweets and exclusive photos.
