Do you sleep with your mouth open?

Well, after reading this article, you'll be scared to do so.

A scaly surprise

Baiting the snake with a snake.
The Philippine Daily
Inquirer reported that doctors in Russia had to surgically remove a snake from inside a woman's body recently.

According to the report, the woman had fallen asleep on the front yard of her home in Levashi, Russia, on 31 August.

When she woke up from her slumber, she was shocked to find a four-foot-long snake slithered into her mouth while she was asleep.

The unnamed woman was then rushed to the hospital where doctors immediately got to work.

Doctors pulling out the snake.
She was placed under general anesthesia, and a footage from of the medical procedure showed a doctor inserting a black tube into the woman’s throat.

Before long, the tube managed to latch on to the snake, and doctors were able to pull out the whole reptile.

Here's the video, if you have the stomach for it:

The report made no mention the snake was alive during the entire operation, but for the sake of the woman, we hope that it was not alive.

There was also no mention on how long the snake stayed inside the woman's body.

OK, we're gonna make sure we tape our mouths shut when we got to bed every night.
