If you're not aware, prominent photographer Acacia Diana recently revealed her 8-year long struggle with her stalker and received waves us support from netizens as well as a personal invitation from Minister of Communication Fahmi Fadzil for help.

Now according to a report by The Star, her stalker, 37-year-old Mohd Safiq Rosli has been brought to court to hear his charges in the newly introduced anti-stalking law under Section 507A(1) the Penal Code and punishable under Section 507A(3) of the same.

He was not offered bail because he skipped bail in the UK and he faces imprisonment of up to three years, or a fine, or both if convicted.

He was picked up by police at the psychiatric ward at Hospital Kuala Lumpur; his family had admitted him there in July of this year. That's interesting because according to Acacia, she had already reported his actions to the family since as early as 2017.

Safiq will be admitted to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta for observation and bail would be decided after the observation was completed. Acacia has received a protection order in the mean time.

The accused pleaded not guilty to his charges and the follow up to the case is on 7 September.
