Sarawakian Uni Student Found Murdered in Cyberjaya, Here’s What We Know So Far
A 20-year-old female university student was found dead in her condominium unit in Cyberjaya early yesterday morning.
According to reports, the victim was discovered unconscious at her residence in Mutiara Ville, Cyberjaya, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigations revealed no signs of forced entry into the premises.

Victim identified as Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara

As reported by Sin Chew Daily, the deceased, known as Maniisha, was originally from Kuching, Sarawak. She was pursuing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Cyberjaya University.
An Instagram post stated that Maniisha’s last rites will be held later today, June 26, at a crematorium in Kuala Lumpur.

No signs of sexual assault

Police have confirmed that there was no element of sexual assault in the case. According to Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman, a post-mortem revealed that the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head.
"We urge the public to refrain from spreading unverified information. There is no indication of rape in this case based on the post-mortem results,” he said, as reported by The Star.

Suspect used victim’s ATM card after the murder

Police detected five to six transactions made using the victim’s ATM card following the murder.
In addition to the missing ATM card, several of the victim’s belongings including a laptop, mobile phone, and cash were also reported missing.

Case investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code

A manhunt is currently underway to locate the suspect. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by visiting the nearest police station or contacting Investigating Officer Asst Supt Mohd Husny Hussien at 012-930 7860.
