Senior Citizens are Eligible for Free Influenza Vaccinations
Under an expanded government immunisation programme, senior citizens aged 60 and above will be eligible for free influenza vaccinations starting this 18th February.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said appointments can be made through the MySejahtera app starting this Friday (14th February). However, availability depends on phased nationwide distribution.
According to a report, this immunization programme aims to reduce serious complications caused by influenza infections, such as pneumonia, sepsis, and heart inflammation, which could lead to hospitalization or worse.

MOH recommended that the influenza vaccine be taken once a year by all members of society, especially those in the high-risk groups.
This includes senior citizens aged 60 and above with one or more chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, hypertension and kidney disease.
