However, with the Covid-19 pandemic raging around the globe, eating out and dining in are not allowed in many countries for now.

When a 67-year-old grandmother from Singapore heard that the country would restrict dining in for a month, she realised that she would miss eating her favourite curry noodles.

According to a report in Malay Mail quoting Singapore newspaper and portal Lianhe Wanbao, Jiang Ahua would normally visit the hawker centre three or four times a week with her husband to get her curry noodles fix.

Grandma needs her fix!

Upon hearing of the no dining in rule, she ordered 10 bowls of the curry noodles from hawker Huang Guoxiong.

Huang told the portal that his curry noodles come in three sizes i.e. small S$3 (RM12), medium S$5 (RM21) and big S$8 (RM33) and Jiang chose the small ones.

He said he doubted that Jiang would finish all 10 bowls of curry noodles, and told her if she could do so, he wouldn’t charge her for the order.

“Normally the younger customers can eat three or four bowls. For people my size, the maximum they can eat is five or six bowls.

“So when the grandmother said she could eat 10 bowls, I did not believe her,” he said.

True to her words, Jiang managed to finish her 10 bowls of curry noodles in just 45 minutes.

“Grandmother may have aged and looked petite but she can really eat,” said Huang.
