Imagine cruising down the highway and a plane lands right in front of you!

Seems like something from the movies but this actually happened in Kulai, Johor on Sunday.

According to a report by The Star, the two Singaporean pilots were forced to make an emergency landing due to engine failure.

What a landing!

Miraculously, no one was harmed during the whole incident.

Malfunction during a routine flight

The pilots Dr Yang Kuang Ying and Saleehullah Abdul Majid were on a routine flight when they experienced problems.

“The 52-year-old pilot and his co-pilot were about 5,000 feet above ground when the aircraft’s engine started to malfunction.

“The oil pressure continued to drop rapidly and that’s when they decided to make an emergency landing on the expressway, ” said Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow.

Supt Tok said that the pilots had taken off from the Seletar Airport in Singapore and headed to the Melaka Airport in Batu Berendam and back to Singapore.

They experienced issues with the light aircraft on their trip back.

He added that both experienced pilots had permission to fly the Beechcraft Bonanza F35 1957 and the Department of Civil Aviation will conduct further investigations into the matter.

We're glad no one got hurt!
