Monsta, the local animation studio behind successful animated hits such as Boboiboy, recently revealed that its YouTube channel has been hacked.

In a statement released on social media, the company stated, "We regret to inform you that our official Malaysian YouTube account, Monsta Channel, which proudly serves over 13.5 million subscribers, fell victim to a malicious cyber incident yesterday.”

"During this incident, control of our account was unlawfully seized, and the profile was altered to represent an American-based crypto company, Microstrategy US.”

"We are deeply concerned by this breach, not only for the disruption it has caused to our operations but more so for the violation of the trust that millions of families and young viewers place in us," it added.

Meanwhile, Monsta shared that its legal team will be actively pursuing all available legal avenues to address this act and hold those responsible fully accountable.

"Our network team is working closely with YouTube to expedite the restoration of our original account, Monsta Channel, along with the millions of affected uploads and the billions of views the channel had earned through years of hard work,” it explained.

It concluded by saying, "We are committed to restoring Monsta Channel to its original state and implementing enhanced security measures to ensure that such an infringement never recurs. Our top priority remains the safety and security of our loyal subscribers. Thank you to all our supporters and viewers for your support and concern."

Hopefully the team along with the help of Google and YouTube are able to rectify the issue very soon.
