Sugarbook, the app that connects sugar daddies and babies, was the talk of the town just a few weeks back before the furores ended with the arrest of its founder.

All was quiet for a bit, but there's a new update now.

The founder, Chan Eu Boon, 34, failed to appear in court on 26 March for mention and document subscription.

Guess there's a reason the website was controversial

The New Straits Times reported that Magistrate Sabreena Bakar@Bahari issued an arrest warrant for Chan at the request of deputy public prosecutor Aliff Asnaf Anuar Sharuddin.

According to Aliff, Chan's lawyer and bailor did not appear in court today (26 March) to submit relevant documents.

The magistrate has summoned the accused to appear in court on 15 May to explain his absence and for the mention of the arrest warrant.

Chan was charged under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code, which provides a maximum jail term of up to two years or a fine, or both, if convicted, for publishing posting conducive to public mischief.

He is being charged for his post titled "Top 10 Universities For Sugar Babies in Malaysia".

The accused paid RM10,000 in bail with one local surety and was supposed to appear in court on the set date but failed to do so.
