Two women have been charged with the murder of North Korean Kim Jong-nam at the Magistrate Court in Sepang on Wednesday morning.

Vietnamese Duon Thi Huong, 29 and Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25, were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Both women were charged separately.

If convicted, they could face a death penalty.

According to The Star, police have also arrested another suspect, North Korean national Ri Jong-chol. Three other North Korean suspects are reportedly still at large, including North Korean embassy second secretary Hyon Kwang-song.

The two women have allegedly attacked Jong-nam, the half brother of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) 2 on 13 February by swiping a highly toxic VX nerve agent on his face.

The police arrested Thi Huong on 15 February when she was trying to catch a flight to Vietnam, and Siti Aisyah was detained the following day.

Siti Aisyah had reportedly claimed that she thought she was applying baby oil on Kim as part of a television prank. Duon reportedly thought the same as well.
