Two Buildings In Masjid India Have Been Placed Under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO)
Two buildings at Jalan Masjid India in the city centre - Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion - have been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
This is following the confirmation of 15 COVID-19 cases in the buildings.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made on the advice of the Health Ministry.
The EMCO will be in effect until about 6,000 residents from 365 commercial and residential units in the buildings are screened for the virus.
EMCO prohibitions
With the implementation of the EMCO,
all residents are prohibited from leaving the area,
non-residents and visitors are barred from entering the closed-off areas all businesses in the building except the ones selling essentials are to be closed.
all food deliveries can only be done at designated spots,
and a Medical Base will be set up to screen the residents.
The EMCO also involves the sealing of all exit and entry points.
In order to ensure compliance, the police, Malaysian Armed Forces, Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia and Jabatan Sukarelawan Malaysia (RELA) will be monitoring the situation.
