One of our very own local varsities has been named one of the 10 best universities in the world in engineering!
New Straits Times reported that leading global college and university ranking website US News has ranked Universiti Malaya (UM) amongst the world's best, specifically in the engineering field.
The website collected data from about 600 of the world’s top universities to help students narrow down their search better, and UM was placed at number 10!
This proves that our education system has been showing significant signs of improvement even in the international scene.
China's Tsinghua University, based in Beijing, came out tops in the rankings. Singapore's National University of Singapore was ranked second, while the world-famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology rounded up the top three.
Earlier this year, a handful of local institutions have also made waves in both regional rankings and world rankings.
