Listen up, SPM takers; if you want to land a job immediately after graduation, then University Malaya (UM) should be on top of your list of tertiary education options.

This is because the oldest university in the country has been named as the top institution for producing employable graduates.

The Star Online reported that the university rose two bands from its previous position of 161-170 as they are now placed in the 141-150 position of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Graduate Employability Rankings 2020.

QS research director Ben Sowter said in a statement quoted by the news portal that nine Malaysian universities participated in this year’s rankings, including Taylor’s University (201-250 band), UCSI University (251-300 band) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) (251-300 band).

“The rankings clearly demonstrate that there is no perfect parallel between an outstanding reputational and research university, and an outstanding nurturer of student career outcomes, ” he said, adding that this can be seen in the case of Taylor’s University outranking of the UCSI University although, in the World University Rankings, it is below UCSI University.

Still the number one choice.
Taylor’s University is in the 551-520 band while UCSI University is at 442 in the QS World University Rankings 2020.

Malaysia’s Management and Science University, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Mara also made the list.

If you guys are looking for international options, keep Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in mind as it is ranked No.1, both in the QS World University Rankings 2020, and for employability.

Considering Tony Stark also went to MIT, we think it's a good choice.
