Year after year, they've made big strides in the annual best universities in the world list.
Well, this year, things are no different.
UM dominating the list
The New Straits Times reported that the country's oldest university has three of its academic disciplines listed in the top 50 in the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.The three subjects are Library and Information Science (ranked 38th), Electrical & Electronic Engineering (ranked 46), and Development Studies (ranked 49th).
On top of that, UM has more reasons to celebrate because a total of 17 subjects they teach in the university made the Top 100 list.
Pretty impressive, UM!
The title of the best performance achieved by any Malaysian programme, however, belongs to Taylor's University, which saw its Hospitality & Leisure Management ranking 16th worldwide.
For the same subject, Management and Science University made its debut on the list by ranking 28th.
Not too shabby, right?
According to the report, a total of 75 programmes at 22 Malaysian higher education institutions are ranked in this year's list.
The QS World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject 2020 was conducted by analysing the performance of 13,138 individual university programmes, taken by students at 1,368 universities which can be found in 83 locations across the world, across 48 academic disciplines and five broad faculty areas.
