The internet never fails to amuse or catch people's mistakes and make it viral.

The latest to join the hall of shame is the United States Agriculture Department, after a Twitter user noticed that the department had listed the fictional kingdom of Wakanda as a trade partner.

To be fair, the guy who found the mistake and tweeted about it was genuinely confused and didn't mean to embarass anyone.

It was a 'mistake'

According to BBC, New York-based software engineer Francis Tsang first found Wakanda on the trade list when he was looking up agricultural tariffs for a fellowship application.

Tsang reportedly said that he was initially confused when he saw Wakanda on the list and at first thought that he remembered the name of the fictional nation wrong.

However, further check showed that he wasn't the one who was mistaken, after all.

If you've been living under some kind of rock and missed all news about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wakanda is the made-up African country where one of the Marvel heroes, Black Panther, originates from.

Wakanda is a very advanced society and US should be grateful to have trade deals with them
In the MCU movies, the people of Wakanda kept the country and its resources a secret until very recently, so them having a trade deal with the US would have been a big deal.

People who saw Tsang's tweets, of course, decided to play along and make a joke of the whole thing.

There are plenty more hilarious comments on the thread if you want more entertainment.

Meanwhile, the US Agriculture Department had clarified that the entry was a mistake, or rather, the non-removal of it was.

Apparently, Wakanda was added during a staff test and whoever added it reportedly forgot to remove it when the official list went live.

Of course it was a mistake, right?
