[VIDEO] Police Looking For Mural Vandalism Culprits As CCTV Footage Of Incident Surfaces

Sadly, the new attraction in Taman Cahaya Alam Section U12 Shah Alam was short-lived after it found vandalised on Monday morning (20 July).

Malaysians were angered when to see photos of the mural smeared with red spray paint with vulgar words written all over it.

According to Sinar Harian, the police are currently investigating the incident and urged anyone with information or for witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.

Selangor Deputy Chief Police Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said that the Shah Alam Municipal Council (MBSA) has taken further action on the mural.

A police report has been lodged so far.

In a stunning revelation, netizens also managed to get their hands on the CCTV footage of the incident which captures two unidentified persons getting down from their car and committing the act at around 11pm on 19 July based on the video’s time stamp.

One of the artists who worked on the mural, Suhaimi Ali, thanked everyone for their support and apologised that the mural will no longer be there.

“[Our] hero is gone,” Suhaimi wrote.
