Saving lives is something that a rescue worker often does, but this particular rescue will be one that Thai rescue worker Mana Srivate will remember forever?

Why? It's the day he rescued an adorable baby elephant.

Mashable SEA, quoting a report from Reuters, said that Srivate was off-duty and on a road trip when he was called for a mission to rescue a baby elephant that had been hit by a motorcycle.

Without thinking twice, Srivate rushed to the scene at Chanthaburi, Thailand only to see the injured baby elephant lying in pain on the road.

Without hesitating, he immediately started performing CPR on the calf.

A saviour

Srivate admitted that he was worried during the procedure as he kept hearing the mother elephant and other elephants calling out for the baby.

As we all know, wild animals tend to get aggressive when it comes to their babies so Srivate was basically putting his life on the line to save the elephant.

Doing his best to help.“I assumed where an elephant heart would be located based on human theory and a video clip I saw online.

“When the baby elephant started to move, I almost cried,” he told Reuters as quoted in the report.

The report also mentioned that the baby elephant was taken to another location for further treatment and was later reunited with its mother.

Reunited.
We salute Srivate for acting so promptly and doing what was needed despite it being such an unusual situation.

A happy ending for all!
