By now, most of you would have seen pictures of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun's makeover.

She practically looks like a different person!

Her new look became the talk of the town not only because of the vast difference but also because the last anyone heard of her was about a month before the "reveal" when news report said that she was positive for COVID-19.

Photoshoot that went viral

Looking pretty is not easy
The minister made headlines again over the weekend when pictures of her modelling clothing by local designer Man Kajang went viral.

Many were quick to comment on how good Rina looked, but just as many were unhappy about the photoshoot.

While we’d like to chalk it up to jealousy, the questions raised by those who made the negative comments were entirely valid.

What has the minister done?

Her new look aside, Malaysians started questioning what Rina has done since she became a minister.

It looks like people are angry to see a minister, who they think have been under-performing, spending time and energy on something that’s not related to her job.

Updates on Minister's social media

Since questions about what Rina has done in her capacity as the head of a body that is supposed to take care of the people, the minister (or her officers, at least) have been hard at work posting pictures of her at work.

There were several posts about individuals in need she’s met, and the ministry helped during the pandemic.

Rina also announced that the ministry is working on tabling a bill that will deal with sexual harassment issues.

A bill, which if we may remind the public, has been in the works for the past 10 years and All Women’s Action Society was campaigning hard to be tabled in the parliament in November 2020.

Whatever it is, we hope to see the ministry bucking up and doing a better job in the future. Who knows? We might even see a makeover of the ministry that is as impressive as the one its minister had?
