Need to do have a video conference with a large group of people?

You can soon do it via WhatsApp.

Whatsapp group video calls.

Yes, WhatsApp will soon be able to host video calls for up to 50 people, using a shortcut to Facebook’s Messenger Rooms platform.

Should be released soon

According to a report in The Star, quoting WABeta Info, the feature is currently being tested on WhatsApp Web for browsers.

There’s also plans to implement it on iOS devices.

So, how does it work?

A larger group.
There’s a shortcut that will direct users to Facebook Messenger, where they can then create a Room that can host up to 50 people by invite.

The good news is, guests only need an invite link to join the video call. They do not need to have WhatsApp or Facebook accounts, which is good news for all those uncles and aunties out there.

Prior to this, WhatsApp video calls only accommodate eight people.

Sooooo, get ready for more online meetings you guys!
