As we usher into the third phase of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, comes another piece of happy news.

Just after the government announced that SPM and STPM candidates will be receiving the COVID-19 vaccine soon, now, children aged above 12 will also be eligible for it.

Time to get vaccinated, kids

Kids aged 12 above will receive Pfizer.

According to the Malay Mail, parents can now register their kids who are over 12 years old for the vaccine via the MySejahtera app.

You can register them by accessing the ‘COVID-19 Vaccination’ button on the app, then click ‘Add Vaccine Dependent’, and finally select ‘Child’ in the relation field.

However, it must be noted that registration as a vaccine dependent is subject to those with access to a smartphone.

Once registered as dependent, the aforementioned individual cannot be registered on a different MySejahtera account and they must be accompanied together with their registrant when their vaccine appointment is scheduled.

Register them today, parents!
Khairy Jamaluddin says a meeting will be held this week to fine-tune the process of vaccinating children aged 12 and above using the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

Last week, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said the vaccine has been approved for the 12 and above age group.

May this decision bring us one step closer to achieving herd immunity soon – so make sure to register your kids and yourselves to get vaccinated!
