The Star Online reported that the super convenient Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) mobile app can now be used by motorists to pay for parking in Kuala Lumpur.
The app, which is currently being used by seven local councils in Selangor, allows motorists to pay for street parking using only their smartphones. This is in addition to the coin or coupon system which are still in use.
Selangor local government, public transport and new village development committee chairman Ng Sze Han told the news portal that apart from that easing the paying method for street parking, motorists can also use the app to pay for “off-street parking”, which involves private parking lots.
“For a start, we are working with a few private operators in Petaling Jaya, and four of the parking lots are now integrated with the app.
“Users will only need to scan a QR code with their mobile app before entering the parking lot to make payment,” he said.

Currently, there’s a running promotion where with every top-up of RM50 up to RM99 using the app, users will receive additional credit of up to RM12.
