“You killed my sister!” – Relative of Late Cyberjaya Student Confronts Murder Suspect
Last month, a university student from Sarawak was found murdered in her dormitory at Mutiara Ville, Cyberjaya. The victim, Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara known simply as Manisha aged 20, died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Since then, police have arrested three suspects: two females and one male, all aged between 19 and 20. The trio, who were previously held on remand, had their remand extended by seven days earlier today, as reported by NST.
Relative of the victim confronts suspect
In a separate report, a man believed to be a relative of the late Manisha attempted to confront one of the suspects.
The man, dressed in a red shirt, reportedly approached the suspect as he was being escorted out of the courtroom following the remand extension hearing.

The man was heard shouting, “Woi! Kau bunuh saya punya adik, pakai otak sikit lah, saya punya adik you kasi mati!” (“You killed my sister! Use your brain! You caused her death!”)
However, the situation was quickly diffused by police officers at the scene.
Lawyer criticises police statement
Meanwhile, M. Manoharan, the lawyer representing the main suspect, criticised the police for issuing a public statement claiming that his client had “ill intentions.”

According to him, the police should refrain from making prejudicial statements while the investigation is still ongoing. He also emphasised that under the law, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
“We have raised our objection with the Magistrate regarding the statement made by Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, which included fragments of evidence that could potentially compromise my client's case."
"This is a serious matter. The police are responsible for conducting investigations, but it is the role of our learned and capable judges to determine guilt or innocence,” he said.
