If you're looking for delicious, and authenthic Italian cuisine to indulge in, you're in luck!

PETRA Cucina has officially opened the doors to its flagship outlet, Roberto’s 1020 Osteria (Roberto’s), in Bangsar Shopping Centre.

PETRA Cucina chief executive Roberto Guiati said that the restaurant "shares Italian hospitality by welcoming guests like family and making every visit truly memorable."

"In Italy, eating together is what connects us with family members and friends,” he said.

Cooked with ingredients imported from Italy

The food at Roberto’s is designed for sharing, ideal for a gathering of friends and family. The restaurant offers guests authentic Tuscan and Emilian dishes.

The menu at Roberto’s has been meticulously curated and was inspired by Guiati’s and head Chef Cristian Grandi’s personal taste.

In keeping with the Italian cooking ethos of treating the best ingredients with love, the restaurant sources many of its ingredients such as cold cuts, cheese, flour, some vegetable, some of the fish, veal, olive oil and wine from Italy to preserve authentic taste and flavours.

“Pizzas will take center stage in our menu with a classic and gourmet range. Guests can witness how pizzas are prepared and cooked in the oven the traditional way in our alfresco dining area.

"The signature feature for the restaurant is the Alfa Forni wood and gas fired pizza oven brought in specially from Italy, and this model, a hallmark of Italian craftmanship, is the only one in Malaysia.

“We also will be showcasing a variety of Tuscan and Emilian culinary staples such as handmade pastas, soups, cold cut platters, as well as contemporary dishes such as paninis and burgers. As the restaurant opens as early as 9am, we have also created an Italian breakfast menu that stretches till brunch,” Guiati said.

Patrons can enjoy Italians’ favourite starters such as Bruschetta, Burrata alla Caprese, as well as Taglieri e Formaggi (Cold Cuts & Cheese).

Mains that Chef Grandi recommends include the Scaloppa di Vitello al Pepe Verde (Italian Veal Fillet), Duo d’ Agnello (Lamb Selection of Short Loin and Rack) and Filetto di Barramundi (Barramundi Fillet).

The restaurant covers wine from all regions but specialises in a unique selection of wines sourced from the lush and bountiful Tuscan country-side, and characterised by elegant yet powerful and structured style.

The spacious, prominently located restaurant features an indoor and al-fresco dining area and a bar where drinks and cocktails are served by a mixologist.

We managed to try some of the food on offer, and we have to say we were impressed.

The restaurant is located in Bangsar Shopping Centre and you can see it from the road so you won't miss it!
