Yesterday, a disturbing video of a man clinging to a moving car in Seri Alam, Johor Bahru, went viral on social media.
The 11‑second video shows a man dressed in black holding on to the driver’s side of a blue car as it sped down the road. He was later seen losing his grip and tumbling onto the road before being caught on the side mirror of another car and getting back on his feet.

The man involved has since been arrested
According to a report by Harian Metro, Seri Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the dangerous stunt is believed to have stemmed from a disagreement between the man and the driver of the car, who was also his ex-wife.
Investigations revealed that at about 3:30 PM on 28 February, the pair had argued at a supermarket in Bandar Seri Alam.
“The man later climbed onto the bonnet and clung to the front of the car, which the woman was driving slowly for about two kilometres."
“A group of men, believed to be the man’s friends, then blocked the car. They were found to have blackmailed the woman by seizing her belongings and smashing her car window,” he said.

Tested positive for drugs
The man, a local in his 30s, has been arrested to assist in the investigation.
Preliminary checks revealed that he had no prior criminal record. However, his urine test came back positive for ketamine.
The investigation is being conducted under Section 384 of the Penal Code for committing extortion, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine, whipping, or any combination of the three.
The case is also being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief, which carries a penalty of up to two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
Additionally, the investigation is being conducted under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which states that consuming drugs is punishable by up to two years’ imprisonment or a fine not exceeding RM5,000.
Police have advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information regarding the case.
