For Malaysian concert fans, the past few years have felt like a dream. With countless concerts, festivals, and live events finally making their way here, many people are already planning which shows to spend their salaries on next. But alongside the excitement comes a familiar concern, ticket scams.
As demand for concert tickets continues to rise, so too have cases involving fake ticket sales and fraudulent resellers online. To help tackle the issue, Malaysia has introduced a new campaign designed to help fans check the legitimacy of tickets before making a purchase.

According to Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, the official portal will serve as Malaysia’s first one-stop platform dedicated to raising consumer awareness, routing fraud reports, and verifying intelligence related to ticketing scams.
Furthermore, by partnering with local ticketing vendors, future tickets issued in Malaysia will feature BTS advisory messages to encourage buyers to patronise authorised platforms.
“For those who have been affected, BTS helpdesks will be stationed at selected event venues. Victims can obtain a reference number and a pre-filled National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) report, while receiving guidance on their next steps within just 15 minutes."
"Every report received will contribute to the national intelligence ecosystem, enabling periodic alerts to be channelled to enforcement agencies,” he said.

It is understood that the official portal and online helpdesk for the BTS initiative are expected to fully launch within the next few weeks and are scheduled to run until 2027.
Fahmi also clarified that the initiative is not intended to replace existing bodies such as the NSRC, the Royal Malaysia Police’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), or the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
Instead, the campaign aims to bolster the existing enforcement mechanism through faster, more integrated intelligence sharing.
