According to the facts presented in court, the incident occurred at about 12:30 PM when Siti Fadzhlina approached the victim after allegedly catching her using a mobile phone during working hours. It was claimed that the victim's actions had caused delays in the workflow.

Siti Fadzhlina then grabbed and strangled Anis Fari by the neck. The victim subsequently lodged a police report, leading to the accused's arrest.

Before handing down the sentence, Magistrate Chia Huey Ting questioned whether Siti Fadzhlina understood the gravity of her actions, noting that the assault could have resulted in far more serious consequences.

"You strangled her because she was slow at work. Do you realise she could have died? You could have killed her, and this could have been a murder case. If she was indeed slow, you should have reported the matter to her supervisor instead of confronting her."

According to reports, Siti Fadzhlina expressed remorse and told the court that she regretted her actions. She has also been dismissed from her job following the incident.

She was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, an offence punishable by up to one year's imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.

Her lawyer urged the court to impose a minimal fine, citing her personal circumstances, including the fact that she is single and financially supports her mother.

Magistrate Chia ultimately fined Siti Fadzhlina RM500, with 14 days' imprisonment in default of payment.
