Although the exact cause of the dispute wasn’t stated, it’s widely believed that the woman’s car was being repossessed due to overdue payments.
The video drew swift reactions from Facebook users, many of whom condemned the woman’s actions and defended the legal rights of banks and repossession agents.
Many called for authorities to investigate the incident and take steps to protect repossession agents from similar threats in the future.
“That car isn’t yours anymore. It belongs to the bank until it’s fully paid off. You didn’t pay, so they’re just reclaiming what’s theirs.”
One user added, “If you can’t afford a car, maybe a wheelbarrow is more suitable.”
“Repossession is lawful, but threatening someone with a weapon is a criminal offense. A police report should be filed,” said another.
