Taking care of a pet goes beyond simply feeding or playing with it when it's convenient, it's a responsibility that lasts for the animal's entire life. Unfortunately, cases of pet abandonment continue to surface, often with devastating consequences.

In one heartbreaking case, a Malaysian couple shared a rescue mission involving dozens of cats that had been left behind after a tenant disappeared.

Upon arriving at the location, they met the homeowner, who managed to unlock the house. What they found inside was something straight out of a horror movie.

"It was extremely bad. We were all devastated when we saw cat remains scattered throughout the house. There was blood and fleas on the floor. Many of the cats had died while locked inside their cages," they shared.

"The saddest part was seeing that many of the deceased cats were pregnant. We also found many dead kittens."

It is estimated that there were more than 60 cats in the house, with over half found dead.

Miraculously, around 30 cats were still alive. However, all of them were weak and severely malnourished from a lack of food.

According to Nor Izwan, the tenant was a family of four consisting of a foreign father, a local mother and two young children. They were believed to have left the home after being unable to pay rent for the past three months.

In the end, Nor Izwan and his wife managed to rescue 36 cats. It was later revealed that 20 of them were in critical condition and suffering from multiple illnesses, including sporotrichosis, Wet FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and parvovirus.

Meanwhile, Nor Izwan shared that he and his wife had buried all the cats that had died.

He also advised the homeowner to lodge a police report regarding the incident and to be more careful when selecting tenants in the future.

Nor Izwan is also welcoming donations from members of the public to help cover the costs of treatment, food and care for the rescued cats. More information can be found on his Facebook page.
