Being connected is such a priority for everyone and their grand aunties that no one can truly live in peace without their smartphones. So it's only logical that cars adapt 'connectivity' into their vehicles. In launching their Juke ENIGMA special version, Nissan has taken connectivity a step further by introducing Amazon Alexa voice experience compatibility to all latest generation Jukes equipped with NissanConnect infotainment system.
Nissan hasn't messed with the second-generation Juke's oily bits. The turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder or a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-pot has been left untouched under the bonnet. Instead, the ENIGMA trim level offers more cosmetic enhancements with newer tech than full-on performance or mechanical upgrades.
The ENIGMA version comes with a darker, stealthier aesthetic to improve road presence. With the two-tone paint scheme accentuated by intricate graphic patterns along the sloping roofline and door mirrors, the Juke might just gain some street cred. Black 19-inch Akari wheels go hand-in-hand with the Storm White or Gun Metallic Grey (as seen here) paint scheme, complementing the black roof and the overall aggressive stance of the Juke. The ENIGMA graphic sprawled across the C-pillar adds just the right amount of premium to the sporty exterior.
On the inside, the ENIGMA trim offers the effortless infotainment experience on-board with the addition of Alexa's Nissan Skill compatibility. Once Nissan Skill has been activated on the Alexa app, Juke owners can then access their Alexa devices to monitor their home via the NissanConnect infotainment system. The opposite is also true, where you can monitor and control certain functions in the Juke from the comfort of your home. Owners can turn on lights, check on remaining fuel and range, and even send routes and destinations to the car's on-board navigation system. One convenient feature is the vehicle finder function, helping owners find their vehicles in vast mazes that are shopping mall parking bays.
Although the Juke has yet to be officially imported into Malaysia, one could still find excellent examples by diving into the grey market pool. The second-generation Juke is good, the Enigma version takes the compact SUV to another level. Moreover, with the likes of the Toyota Yaris Cross hot on its heels, the Nissan Juke needs all the help it can get to stay ahead of the competition.
