0.06mm is the margin we're working on these days. The (now) tubby HP Spectre 13 held the title of thinnest laptop in April this year but now, at consumer electronics trade show IFA 2016, Acer has released the Swift 7 laptop, a Windows 10 machine measuring 9.98mm. Just 0.02mm below the 1cm mark. When will the laptop body shaming end? It seems the computer industry needs to get on the body positive bandwagon. Aren't all laptops beautiful regardless of their figure?!

Amidst a thinning (heh) crowd of consumers for Acer's cheap laptops, the Swift is Acer's attempt to go in a new direction. The Swift 7 is the flagship entry in Acer's brand new Swift line of laptops. It's made from aluminium with black and gold accents. It weighs 1.1kg and is fanless for quiet running. Not only is it svelte, it packs a whallop in the power department: 7th gen Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. It's a 13.3-inch screen that boasts a 1,080p display. Regular high-end flagship material in the (now) thinnest frame on the market.

There are two USB-C 3.1 ports on the side next to a headphone jack. There's no mention of how to charge this thing though it could be through the USB-C or a port on the other side of the Swift. They've also managed to fit in enough batteries for nine hours of use... or so they say. Many manufacturers have fallen considerably short in the battery-life department and it's yet to be seen if Acer can buck the trend.
Wait... Is that rose gold? (Image: Acer)
The Swift 7 goes on sale in October in North America with a starting price of $999 or RM nope, nope, nope. Kidding, RM4,075 by today's exchange rates.
