We'd previously covered how Liar accurately depicts what happens at the One Stop Crisis Centre and how it alleviated the stigma of sexual abuse and helped victims speak out.

Since then the show has had an amazing season with more twists than a German pretzel and it all culminated with a star-studded gala screening of the finale at St Regis Kuala Lumpur.

Organised by Astro in partnership with Tatler the official media partner, the party was attended by A-listers including members of the Royal Family. Among guests of honour who attended included YAM Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Tengku Hajjah Dato’ Aishah Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, YAM Tengku Datuk Seri Ahmad Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, YAM Datin Paduka Setia Tunku Irinah binti Almarhum Tuanku Jaafar, YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda.

Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim emceed the event and it was opened with a speech by Group CEO of Astro Euan Smith. Jaclyn Victor floored the audience with her vocals alongside other singers Dasha Logan and Datuk Syafinaz Selamat who joined in on the performance.

Of course the stars of the show Tony Eusoff and Tiz Zaqyah along with the creators of the show were given the chance to take their final bows as they bid farewell to the show they've poured their heart and soul into.

Liar was a bold new step for local TV dramas with its unabashed take on sexual violence alongside mental health issues and gender biases. The prestigious local adaptation of a British thriller supported by a star-studded finale gala night demonstrates how Astro is moving into new ground.
