As of now, many of you may have caught wind of Johnny Depp’s libel lawsuit verdict against British tabloid, The Sun that accused him for being abusive towards his former wife, Amber Heard.

Depp lost the lawsuit which left many fans divided over the result.

He now intends to appeal and wants to prove that the allegations against him are false.

Following the verdict, Johnny was asked to resign from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise by Warner Bros.

From Hannibal To Dark Wizard?

And now, chatter of who is worthy enough to replace him filled the internet but it looks like the studio may have already found the perfect candidate.

According to Entertainment Weekly, ‘Hannibal’ star Mads Mikkelsen is currently in talks to replace Depp as Grindelwald.

Can he be as good as Johnny?
Warner Bros. is speeding up the process to hire a new actor as the dark wizard given that the third film in the franchise is already in production in the U.K.

Fans were gutted by the news but many suggested that the studio bring back Colin Farrell given that he already played Grindelwald although in disguise.

‘Fantastic Beasts’ first premiered in 2016 starring Eddie Redmayne as the titular character Newt Scamander.

Warner Bros. has pushed the third installment of the film to 15 July 2022 instead of November 2021.
