On November 27, 1991, a concert was held at our very own Stadium Negara. It became one of the most iconic and legendary concerts to ever grace the Malaysian entertainment industry.

It was our Jazz Queen Datuk Sheila Majid’s first solo concert.

It was said that over 15,000 spectators filled up the stadium to watch Sheila Majid put on a spectacular show that will be remembered for decades to come.

If you were one of those lucky people who attended the concert, you would most probably remember the great atmosphere and the pandemonium inside the stadium.

As years went on, new singers emerged to help colour our music industry but no one came close to replacing the Sinaran songstress.

On Monday, Sheila surprised everyone when she announced that she’s making a big comeback with the launch of her new album, Boneka, as well as a concert in Stadium Negara on 5 August.

Sheila Majid promises to put on a show that they'll never forget.
It has been 26 years since she last performed at the stadium.

Sheila told New Straits Times that performing at the same venue that kickstarted her career is “just like a dream come true”.

Fans can expect to hear the sultry crooner performing her greatest hits as well as new songs from her latest album. She also promised to deliver her best as this concert isn’t “some glamourised dinner show that we're going to do at a small venue – this is 'the' Stadium Negara".

Tickets to her concert will go on sale this Friday, April 14th, beginning 10am. You can purchase them here.

In the meantime, let’s take a walk down memory lane with our favourite Sheila Majid song:
