Despite disappointing news that NCT 127 and Seventeen would not be holding concerts in Malaysia anytime soon, things are finally looking up regarding news about K-pop concerts in the country with BLACKPINK, (G)I-DLE, and now Super Junior set to hit our local shores for their tours.

Although there aren’t any formal announcements so far, Malaysian ELFs were thrilled to hear Eunhyuk mention “Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia” specifically during their radio show, the ‘D&E Show’ with fellow member Donghae.

He elaborated that Super Junior, or SuJu as they are fondly known, will soon head to our country for their tour ‘Super Show 9: Road’. They are known for their spectacular stages and energetic performances so fans can look forward to a great show!

According to China Press, the upcoming concert will be likely held in the month of October or November this year. Time to prepare your lightsticks, banners, and of course, wallets!

While many K-pop groups sadly lose their popularity after seven years due what is known as the ‘Seven-Year Curse’, SuJu continue to prove their holding the power in the business, having been around for a whopping 17 years. On 12 July, the group released their 11th album ‘Vol.1 The Road: Keep on Going’ with five tracks including the title track ‘Mango’. They proved that they still have a loyal fanbase as the album topped iTunes charts around the world.

Besides their group activities, many members are currently known for being active in variety shows such as Heechul, who is a fixed cast member of JTBC’s popular show ‘Knowing Bros’. They are also known for their hit singles in the past such as ‘Sorry, Sorry’, ‘MAMACITA’ and ‘Mr. Simple’.

Super Junior were initially scheduled to perform in KL at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on 1 March 2020 for their previous tour ‘Super Show 8: Infinite Time’ when the pandemic hit and the concert was unfortunately cancelled. They were last in Malaysia in 2018 for the K-Wave Music Festival.
