After a long hiatus, BLACKPINK who is arguably the most popular girl group in the world, announced on 6 July 2022 that they would be making a highly anticipated return with a brand-new album and a world tour. That’s not all, because they’ll be making a stop in Malaysia!
According to a representative of YG Entertainment, the label of the girl group, “A lot of music that is BLACKPINK-esque has been completed with much effort over a long period of time.
In order to expand BLACKPINK’s emotional connection with fans all over the world, they will set out for the largest-scale world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year along with their comeback. Furthermore, big projects fitting of that status will continuously follow.”
The South Korean girl group is made out of members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé. They have released various smash hits such as “Boombayah”, “Kill This Love”, and “How You Like That”, broken numerous online records like being the most subscribed music act in history on YouTube and amassed millions of diehard fans all over the world.
With a series of disappointments after a string of K-pop acts that have given our country a miss with their concerts lately where K-pop were apparently deliberately leaving Malaysia out of their rotation, not many Malaysians would have imagined that our country would be the first with news of their upcoming tour.
However, BLINKS, as the official fandom of BLACKPINK is known, finally have some good news to look forward to as the girl group is set to perform in Kuala Lumpur on 4 March 2023. Twentytwo13 shared that the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil will play host to the concert, which has a capacity of approximately 85,000.
This will not be the quartet’s first time performing in the country as they held a two-day concert in Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam back in 2019.
The superstars wowed more than 16,000 screaming fans at the sold-out concerts. Stay tuned to our page for more updates.
