One of the most anticipated things about Ramadan is the bazaar. As the fasting month unfolds, evenings come alive with rows of colourful stalls selling every kind of food and beverage you can imagine. While many neighbourhoods host their own vibrant markets, one stands out for going the extra mile, quite literally.

The bazaar, named Bazar Ramadan Santai BTP (Bandar Tasik Puteri), is organised by BigFood Festival and sponsored by Bank Islam, in collaboration with the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS). According to the organiser, Muhammad Faezee Abu Bakar, this bazaar will feature a “healing” or relaxing concept.
“This bazaar will be the only official Ramadan bazaar in BTP. Therefore, we want to highlight a concept that is different from other Ramadan bazaars, where visitors can break their fast at the bazaar,” he said, as reported by Harian Metro.
Faezee added that aside from providing chairs and tables for visitors to break their fast, the venue will also offer other facilities, including prayer rooms and toilets.
As for parking, Faezee said there is an outdoor area near the bazaar that will be used as a parking lot, which can accommodate about 800 cars at a time.
“It looks like a running event.”
A video of the venue has since gone viral on social media. Although the clip only shows long rows of empty tents for vendors, many Malaysians have already started cracking jokes about how long the bazaar is — saying it looks like a running event instead.

“Total distance back and forth is about 2.4 km. If you go there every day, you might achieve your body goals. It won’t take too long if you’re used to brisk walking, but it’ll be packed. Anyway, stay safe and wear masks in crowded places.”
