Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and also the series of Movement Control Order announced over the past few months, Malaysia has closed its borders to foreigners and so did our neighbour, Singapore.

So how do we deal with border closure especially if we have friends and families abroad? Well, we talk online or through the phone, but for Malaysia and Singapore’s Foreign Ministers, they’ve decided to take the extra route to communicate with each other.

According to Malaysiakini, Malaysia Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein had a meeting meeting with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan at the Causeway border to “have a chat” prior to signing the Rapid Transit System (RTS) agreement on 30 July.

Both ministers fist bumped each other before having a conversation on how to make things easier for both nationals to cross borders.

The incident caught the attention of netizens which called the meeting something they’ve seen out of the hit K-drama series, ‘Crash Landing On You’.

Remember this scene, guys?
In the series, Captain Ri and his subordinates were to meet their North Korean counterparts at the North-South Korean border upon returning home which became an iconic scene when Yoon Se-ri ran towards him to say goodbye.

Here’s what netizens are saying about the ministers’ encounter on Twitter:

So, what do you think guys? Does this remind you of that scene from ‘Crash Landing On You’?
