Hari Raya Aidilfitri is almost upon us, and as a tradition, it is time to hand out green packets of money to children and the elderly to bless them with good wishes. These are usually adorned with illustrations of ketupats and maybe a kampung house; although they are nice, they are pretty dull.

For those looking to jazz up the green packet distribution process and be known as the cool family member, TikTok user @nawraissabella has shared some unconventional Raya packets you won’t want to throw away (or, rather, recycle).

These with cute and simple drawings have hilarious phrases written on them, including: ‘Jangan buka depan orang tau’ (don’t open in front of others), ‘Hari ni minta maaf, esok buat lagi’ (apologise today, do it again tomorrow), ‘Jangan tanya bila nak kahwin’ (don’t ask when I’m getting married) and ‘Gwenchana…gwenchana yoo’ (a popular saying which means it’s okay in Korean).
