When you're pushed into a corner, you only have two choices: accept your fate or fight your way out of it.

This one mud crab decides to do the latter.

'You can't see me'

A mud crab, which was supposed to be turned into crab curry, was so determined to not end up being someone’s dinner that it hatched an escape plan, which it executed pretty well.

The great escape was caught on tape by Facebook user Fatin Nurul Asyiqin, who posted the video on the popular Facebook group 'Masak Apa Tak Jadi Hari Ni'.

Almost turned into food.
According to Fatin, she had just finished cooking up some crab curry and was taking the rubbish out.

Retracing her steps, she spotted the crab, very much alive and kicking, hiding between her couch and a dumbbell in the living room.

"What are you doing here? I’m just done cooking, oh my goodness," she asked the ‘terrified’ crab.

Here's the hilarious encounter:

A stowaway crab?

How the crab managed to escape is one thing, but what was more puzzling is the fact that Fatin didn't know where the crab came from.

Fatin initially thought that one out of the five crabs that her husband brought home had escaped, but when she counted the crabs in the curry, there were five.

"When I was done cooking, my wok had five crabs, so I don’t know where this extra one came from.

"I swear I’m not lying; some are claiming I did but I was shocked there’s another crab,” she wrote in the Facebook post.

'Please lemme go!'
Her video has since gone viral on social media, having been shared more than 1,000 times.

When a netizen asked Fatin what she plans to do with the runaway crab, Fatin replied: “Crab soup”.

Sigh, poor crab. Looks like its freedom was shortlived.
