Malaysian Instant Noodles Ranked Second In International Yummy List
There are two things we Malaysians generally love: food, and instant noodles.
Yes, even the most health conscious of us love a good, piping hot bowl of instant noodles, no matter how many times people tell us that they are bad for your health.
However, to our surprise, our love for instant noodles is shared by many people in other countries, because international website L.A. Times has just released their list of the best tasting instant noodles of 2019.
The good news is, our very own MyKuali Penang White Curry has been named as the second best-tasting instant ramen of 2019 in the 'L.A. Times Instant Ramen Power Rankings' list.
The website's food columnist Lucas Kwan Peterson, who compiled the top 31 best tasting instant noodles, described the MyKuali Penang White Curry noodles as “one of the best”.
“Finding a packet labeled “nondairy creamer” in with your instant noodle meal might alarm some, but not me, especially when it’s from MyKuali, a Malaysian company that makes a number of excellent noodle products," he wrote.
Calling the Penang white curry one of the best, Peterson appreciates its "deep seafood flavour" that is slightly sweet and almost coconutty.
“The spice of the soup will elicit the odd bead of sweat and the funk is heavy with this one — funkier than the tweeters of any mosquitoes you’ve ever come across,” he described the product.
On a sweeter note, affirming Malaysians’ love for the quick cook meals, two other Malaysian instant noodles also made the Top 10 list.
Ibumie Mi Goreng Curry Kapitan made the fifth spot, while MyKuali Penang Spicy Prawn took the seventh spot.
In case you're wondering who made it to the top of the list, it's none other than Indomie. We can live with that.
Does this get you in the mood for some instant noodles? BRB, gonna make ourself a packet or two.
