Food is an important part of our lives, but most of us don't have the time to prepare delicious, healthy food at home.

The lack of time and sometimes the skill to whip up a good meal is taking a toll on our wallets as well as health.

Marks and Spencer, in collaboration with local boutique culinary studio TCH Foodworks, have come up with a series of cooking workshops to help food lover community to master the simple art of home cooking.

The workshops, titled "Cook with M&S" will showcase two recipes at each workshop using the newly expanded “Cook with M&S” range of ingredients ranging from sauces, seasonings to pastes and more.

Easy and healthy meals

Chef Collin Edwards showing us how to cook up a storm
Rojak Daily
was invited to try one of the workshops where Chef Collin Edward of TCH Foodworks and his team taught us to make the 'Playful Wrap n’ Go' and 'Sweet Chili Prawns served with Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Papardelle'.

Chef Collin first demonstrated the recipes before the participants started making their own version.

What we liked the most about the workshop was that the chef was very flexible in allowing participants to adjust the recipe to our own tastes.

While the main ingredients were the same — highlighting one main M&S product plus other accompanying ones — the amount we wanted to add as well as extra seasoning was left up to us.

Even the types of vegetables and the portion we used in the wrap and later in the pasta was up to us.

For the 'Playful Wrap n’ Go', all we had to do was marinate boneless chicken with M&S Mexican Paste, add seasoning and pan fry it. You can also oven bake the chicken if you wish to.

While the chicken was cooking, chop some veggies (we used green and yellow pepper, as well as tomatoes and cucumber).

The final step was to assemble everything and wrap it in a tortilla wrap.

'Sweet Chili Prawns served with Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Papardelle' was just as simple.

We managed to watch the demo, cook and eat both the dishes in slightly more an hour! That's really fast, isn't it?

The workshop is perfect for beginners but if you have a little more experience in cooking, you can elavate the taste by adding or replacing more seasoning and ingredients as well.
